5 CN Govt Ministries Jointly Launch Pilot Program for Industrial 5G Private Networks
2026-06-25 10:45:10 China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and three other ministries, jointly launched a pilot program for industrial 5G private networks. The initiative supports large and ultra-large enterprises in sectors including raw materials, equipment manufacturing, consumer goods, electronic information, defense technology, and energy and transportation to build standalone private networks. Cities participating in "5G + Industrial Internet" integration pilots are encouraged to take the lead in launching private network construction. Through the pilot program, authorities aim to explore new models covering the "construction, utilization, maintenance, and management" of standalone private networks to meet specific enterprise needs, foster and strengthen the industrial chain ecosystem of private networks, and empower a wide range of industries through "5G + Industrial Internet" applications.
