TSMC Advancing Construction of ~20 Wafer Fabs Globally, But Still Unable to Fully Keep Up With Mkt Demand

(TSM.US), said demand for chip production capacity driven by AI is enormous and imminent. Taking TSMC as an example, when the company assessed customer demand at the end of last year and planned equipment procurement for this year accordingly, given the estimated equipment demand at that time was set at "1x", the demand had already been revised up to 1.5x just one quarter later. By July this year, the figure had further climbed to 1.9x, far exceeding initial expectations.
