2026-06-30 16:26:26 Hong Kong stock market concluded the first half of the year today (30th). The HSI opened down 18 pts and remained under pressure, once diving 341 pts to a trough of 22,685. The index closed at 22,881, down 145 pts or 0.63%, with full-day turnover at HKD308.05 billion. The HSCEI closed at 7,558, down 47 pts or 0.62%. The HSTECH advanced, closing at 4,472, up 79 pts or 1.8%. For 1H26, the HSI accumulated a decline of 2,749.52 pts or 10.73%. The HSCEI lost 1,355.38 pts or 15.21% cumulatively. The HSTECH dropped 1,043.75 pts or 18.92% during the period. Major techs were generally higher today. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) closed at HKD109.6, up 5.08%. TENCENT (00700.HK) extended gains in the afternoon session and closed up 2.28%. NTES (09999.HK), KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) and MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) each rose more than 1%, while BABA-W (09988.HK) sank 0.16%. Among blue chips, LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK) was the best performer, ballooning 8.18%, while SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK) gained 2.69%.
