2026-08-26 16:33:01 This morning (26th), the HSI opened up 124 pts and once escalated 289 pts in early trading to peak at 25,800 before narrowing gains. The index closed at 25,652, up 141 pts or 0.56%, with main board turnover at HKD254.824 billion. The HSCEI settled at 8,533, up 88 pts or 1.05%. The HSTECH ended at 4,626, up 37 pts or 0.82%. Major dotcoms thrived broadly. BABA-W (09988.HK) jumped up 2.1% after announcing the international version of QwenWork. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) gained more than 1%, while NTES (09999.HK) dropped 1.76%. TENCENT (00700.HK) added 0.77%. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) spiked 2.52% after unveiling its new-generation Xring chip. Some innovative drug makers skyrocketed. INNOVENT BIO (01801.HK) surged 9.69% after its interim profit rose 50%, making it the best-performing blue chip of the day. CANSINOBIO (06185.HK) soared 25.99% after signing a strategic cooperation framework agreement for the joint development of mRNA personalized therapeutic cancer vaccines. EVEREST MED (01952.HK) jumped up 2.88%. CSPC PHARMA (01093.HK) added 1.22% after interim profit jumped nearly 1.4x. However, WuXi series was under pressure. WUXI BIO (02269.HK) dived 2.78% after results. WUXI XDC (02268.HK), whose TP was raised by Citi and CLSA, slid 3.62% for the day. WUXI APPTEC (02359.HK) lost 2.15%. Among blue chips, ANTA SPORTS (02020.HK) elevated 9.53% after interim net profit grew 34.9% YoY and dividend was raised. CHINA OVERSEAS (00688.HK) closed up 4.06% after interim core earnings beat. NONGFU SPRING (09633.HK) climbed 2.42% as 1H26 net profit lifted 16.6% and exceeded forecasts. LAOPU GOLD (06181.HK) shot up 4% after announcing ambitious overseas expansion plans for next year.
