The HSCEI concluded at 8,549, up 104 pts or 1.23%, while the HSTECH finished at 4,660, up 72 pts or 1.58%. Major tech stocks were broadly higher. BABA-W (09988.HK) grew 1.49% amid reports that Jack Ma increased his holdings by more than HKD600 million over recent days. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) rebounded 2.2%. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) gained 1.4%, while NTES (09999.HK) lost 1.6%. TENCENT (00700.HK) climbed 1%. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) advanced 4.32% after unveiling its new-generation Xring chip. Some innovative drug stocks soared. INNOVENT BIO (01801.HK) surged 8.39% after reporting a 50% rise in interim profit, making it the best-performing blue chip in the morning session. CANSINOBIO (06185.HK) swelled 18.64% after signing a strategic cooperation framework agreement for the joint development of mRNA personalized therapeutic cancer vaccines. EVEREST MED (01952.HK) spiked 5.05%. CSPC PHARMA (01093.HK) added 1.91% after interim profit jumped nearly 1.4x. However, WuXi series came under pressure. WUXI BIO (02269.HK) faded 1.34% after results. WUXI XDC (02268.HK), whose TP was raised by CLSA, lost 3.31% by midday. WUXI APPTEC (02359.HK) tumbled 2.15%. Among blue chips, NONGFU SPRING (09633.HK) shrank 1.25% despite interim net profit adding 16.6% and beating expectations. LAOPU GOLD (06181.HK) leaped 3.34% after announcing ambitious overseas expansion plans for next year. SHENZHOU INTL (02313.HK) plunged 7.39% to HKD38.1, hitting a more than 10-year trough and becoming the worst-performing blue chip of the morning, as brokers said its 1H gross margin missed.
