This morning (26th), the HSI opened at 25,635, up 124 pts or 0.49%; the HSCEI opened at 8,500, up 55 pts or 0.65%; and the HSTECH opened at 4,622, up 34 pts or 0.75%. Major tech names thrived broadly. BABA-W (09988.HK) opened up 1.31% amid reports that Jack Ma had increased his stake by more than HKD600 million over several consecutive days; MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) rebounded 1.3%; JD-SW (09618.HK) and NTES (09999.HK) rose more than 1%; TENCENT (00700.HK) gained 0.68%; XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) added 0.86%. Iran and Oman reached a temporary security passage arrangement for the Strait of Hormuz, with international oil prices continuing to dive more than 2% this morning. CNOOC (00883.HK) opened down 1.99%, while PETROCHINA (00857.HK) sank 1.59%.
