2026-08-25 16:44:55 This morning (25th), the HSI opened up 116 pts before coming under pressure. It once lost 113 pts to a trough of 25,403 before narrowing losses in the afternoon. The index closed at 25,511, down 6 pts or 0.02%, with full-day turnover of HKD254.079 billion. The HSCEI finished at 8,445, down 25 pts or 0.31%, while the HSTECH concluded at 4,588, down 5 pts or 0.12%. Among major techs, MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) cratered 6.65%, making it the worst-performing blue chip of the day. BABA-W (09988.HK) rose 1.51% after Chairman Joseph Tsai and CEO Eddie Wu increased their holdings in Alibaba shares by a combined approximately HKD120 million. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) dipped 0.22% ahead of next month's launch of the SkyNomad series and Xiaomi 18 Fold series. TENCENT (00700.HK) gained 0.46%, while NTES (09999.HK) closed up 2.1%. Wuxi series was in demand. WUXI XDC (02268.HK) surged 14.83% after UBS raised its TP to HKD94.6 and lifted EPS forecasts. WUXI BIO (02269.HK) elevated 7.41%, becoming the best-performing blue chip of the day, while WUXI APPTEC (02359.HK) leaped 3.29%. Other innovative drug and CXO concept stocks also performed strongly. EVEREST MED (01952.HK) soared 18.46%, REMEGEN (09995.HK) rallied 8.22%, GENSCRIPT BIO (01548.HK) spiked 7.42%, while TIGERMED (03347.HK) and JOINN (06127.HK) both advanced more than 5%. Kingboard series strengthened after releasing quarterly results yesterday. KB LAMINATES (01888.HK), which saw multiple brokers raise TP, jumped up 13.79% for the day, while KINGBOARD HLDG (00148.HK) escalated 11.78%.
