Democrats Secure 2 Key Senate Seats in North Carolina and Georgia; DJIA Futures Sag ~300 pts, Nasdaq Futures Slump 1.6%

Democrats are expected to successfully take control of the US House of Representatives, winning at least 205 of the 435 House seats, while Republicans are projected to secure at least 160 seats, according to consolidated foreign media reports. Democrats also won key Senate races in North Carolina and Georgia, as the party needs a net gain of four seats to take control of the Senate. Markets broadly viewed that Democratic control of both chambers of Congress would be unfavorable to US equities, amid concerns that stricter regulation could be imposed on the AI industry. US stock futures was under pressure, with DJIA futures crumbling nearly 300 points, and Nasdaq futures slipping 459 points or 1.62%. The USD Index was also under notable pressure, down 0.43% to 101.44. Asia-Pacific equity markets also moved lower.
