The three major US stock indices closed down 0.7% to 1%, as persistent tensions in the Middle East shored up oil prices to their highest closing levels in more than a month, raising market concerns that the Federal Reserve may need to raise interest rates further in response.

This morning (2nd), the HSI opened at 25,280, down 48 points or 0.19%; the HSTECH opened at 4,532, down 18 points or 0.41%; and the HSCEI opened at 8,447, down 15 points or 0.18%.

Among major techs, MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) fell nearly 1%; TENCENT (00700.HK), XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) and BABA-W (09988.HK) slipped less than 1%.
