2026-06-25 10:47:50
International oil prices wiped off gains recorded during the US-Iran conflict. New York oil futures for August delivery sank 1.39% to USD69.36 per barrel, while Brent oil futures for August delivery declined 1.63% to USD72.54 per barrel.

According to trade-tracking firm Kpler, after the US and Iran reached an agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, more than 20 oil tankers carrying about 35 million barrels of crude oil have passed through the strait.

HK-listed airlines elevated this morning (25th). CATHAY PAC AIR (00293.HK) swelled 3.04% to HKD12.56; CHINA EAST AIR (00670.HK) shot up 6.63%; AIR CHINA (00753.HK) climbed 4.16%; and CHINA SOUTH AIR (01055.HK) mounted 3.75%.

Among oils, CNOOC (00883.HK) was last at HKD21.56, down 1.19%. PETROCHINA (00857.HK) was last at HKD8.84, down 1.23%. SINOPEC CORP (00386.HK) was last at HKD4.15, flattish. COSCO SHIP ENGY (01138.HK) cratered 4.6%.

Citi stated that significant de-escalation of tensions is now the base-case scenario. It expected Brent oil futures to fall to between USD60 and USD65 per barrel over the next 6-12 months as crude flows through Hormuz return to normal.
