US President Donald Trump said after meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing that he hopes relations between the US and China will be stronger and better than ever before.

Trump said China is willing to support US negotiations with Iran and will not provide military equipment to Iran. He said Xi expressed hope that the US and Iran can reach an agreement and has proactively offered assistance.

However, China has not explicitly confirmed this claim. According to a statement released by the White House following the meeting between the two heads of state, it only mentioned that both sides agreed the Strait of Hormuz must remain open to support the free flow of energy.

After consultations with China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday (14th), multiple Chinese vessels will pass through the Strait of Hormuz, and the relevant ships will be permitted transit under Iran's management mechanism, Iranian media, citing sources, reported.
