Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing with US President Donald Trump, who is on a state visit to China.

Xi stressed that the Taiwan issue is the most pivotal issue in China-US relations. If handled properly, bilateral relations can maintain overall stability; if mishandled, the two countries could face confrontation or even conflict, pushing the entire China-US relationship into a highly dangerous situation.
