Samsung Electronics reported that its operating profit for 1Q26 surged more than sevenfold YoY to KRW57.2 trillion, setting a record high and beating market expectations, driven by demand for AI servers and a shortage of memory chips. Revenue also reached a record high, rising about 70% YoY to KRW133.9 trillion, above the expected KRW132.69 trillion.Samsung Electronics stated that despite limited supply, its memory chip business achieved record quarterly sales by meeting high value-added AI demand, while rising prices across the industry also contributed. The company expects that as cloud service giants continue to advance AI applications and demand for Agentic AI accelerates, server memory demand will remain strong in 2H26.
