Shen Weihua, Director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, stated at a press conference held by the Shanghai Municipal Government that, in order to accelerate the development of Shanghai as an international consumption center city, the 7th Shanghai "Double Five Shopping Festival" will officially launch next Thursday (30th). The event will span multiple key holiday consumption periods, including Labor Day, Mothers Day and the Dragon Boat Festival. It plans to establish a "1+21+16+X" activity framework, comprising one launch ceremony, 21 municipal-level key events, 16 district-level "One District, One Theme" activities, and more than 100 featured market-driven promotional events organized by major enterprises.Shen Weihua revealed that during the shopping festival, consumption vouchers will be distributed in a targeted manner. A subsidy policy for newly purchased home appliances and digital products under designated self-selected categories will be formally implemented.
