According to Xinhua News Agency, President Xi Jinping met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing this morning (15th). Xi stated that amid a turbulent and evolving international landscape, both sides should enhance strategic communication, strengthen diplomatic coordination, and promote the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination to reach a higher level, achieve greater stability, and make further progress.

Xi emphasized that in the face of profound changes unseen in a century, China and Russia should pursue closer and more robust strategic coordination to firmly safeguard their legitimate interests and uphold the solidarity of Global South countries. Both sides should maintain strategic resolve, foster mutual trust, provide mutual support, and pursue common development. They should fully leverage their geographical proximity and complementary advantages to deepen comprehensive cooperation and enhance the resilience of their respective development. Efforts should also be made to strengthen multilateral coordination, firmly safeguard and practice multilateralism, and jointly revitalize the authority and vitality of the United Nations.
