A report by maritime data consultancy, Windward, stated that traffic in the Strait of Hormuz remains sparse and tightly controlled, with vessels still required to coordinate with the Iranian military when transiting. Sailing conditions, toll arrangements and the legal framework for passage remain unclear, and the strait has not truly reopened. It is currently in a 'supervised pause', the report noted. In a social media post on Thursday (9th), Windward said that traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remains effectively stalled after the ceasefire, with very few outbound vessels, including one bulk carrier, one small product tanker, and one sanctioned liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier that had previously turned back due to uncertainty but has just departed.
