Multiple areas on Hong Kong Island experienced a sudden voltage dip this morning (9th). Starting from 9:23am, nearly 100 requests for assistance involving lift entrapments, as well as multiple fire alarm activation cases, were reported in areas including Chai Wan, North Point, Aberdeen, Kennedy Town, Central and Sheung Wan.HK Electric stated that due to a fault in the interconnection line between HK Electric and CLP Power, some customers may have encountered a momentary voltage dip, which has since returned to normal.HK Electric noted that during the fault period, certain voltage-sensitive electrical equipment, such as computers, lifts and air-conditioning systems, may have been affected. After voltage levels restored to normal, electrical engineers responsible for the relevant facilities were required to reboot the systems in order to resume operations.
