European stock markets tumbled on Monday (9th). A selloff was triggered as international oil prices crossed USD100 per barrel, and European natural gas prices spiked in early trading.The Stoxx Europe 600 Index dropped 12.45 points or 2.1% to 586.24. The FTSE 100 fell 166 points or 1.6% to 10,118. The French CAC 40 Index lost 193 points or 2.4% to 7,799. Germany's DAX declined 570 points or 2.4% to 23,020. Spain's IBEX 35 ebbed 442 points or 2.6% to 16,632. Italy's FTSE MIB faded 992 points or 2.2% to 43,159.The airline industry and related stocks headed south, with aircraft engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce plunging 4.9%. Air France-KLM and Lufthansa also shed 4.3% and 4.7%. British Airways' parent company IAG slipped 4.4%. Airbus retreated 4.3%.Regarding US stock futures, DJIA futures fell 709 points or 1.5% to 46,608. S&P 500 index futures dropped 91 points or 1.4% to 6,652.
