European natural gas prices once saw a surge of 30%, the largest weekly increase since the energy crisis. US natural gas futures also joined the rally, reaching a new high for the month.

Previously, major oil-producing countries in the Middle East announced production cuts as the situation in Iran intensified, pushing international oil prices past USD100 per barrel.
