CKH HOLDINGS (00001.HK)  +0.400 (+0.654%)    Short selling $136.81M; Ratio 21.768%   has intensified its legal response to the unlawful takeover by the Republic of Panama (Panama State) of the port operations of the Company's subsidiary, Panama Ports Company, S.A. (PPC), as announced by CKH HOLDINGS.

The Company submitted a supplement to its previous notice of dispute against the Panama State under an applicable investment treaty that provides for international arbitration.

The supplement emphasized that the State continued its pattern of disregarding communications and discontinuing consultations. Instead, the State, without transparency, occupied the ports and took the property and personnel of PPC.

The Company also has taken note of various inaccurate remarks by the Panama State related to the Company and PPC that have further aggravated the circumstances.

The Company has been advised that PPC filed an administrative petition seeking reconsideration of Executive Decree No. 23, the executive action that led to the occupation of facilities and confiscation of property of PPC.

PPC also continues to challenge the unlawful confiscation of its proprietary and legally protected documents and materials by the Panama State. These actions follow the previous filing by PPC of an international arbitration against the Panama State under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce.

The Company disagrees with the latest prejudicial conduct by the Panama State and will continue to assess with counsel and pursue recourse to available national and international legal proceedings in the matter.
