XTALPI (02228.HK)  -0.040 (-0.501%)    Short selling $68.40M; Ratio 19.925%   announced its proposal to issue zero coupon convertible bonds worth $2.866 billion due 2027. The initial Conversion Price is set at $13.85 per Share, representing a premium of approx. 20% over yesterday's (7th) closing price of $11.54. The bonds will be fully convertible into 207 million Shares, representing approx. 4.59% of the enlarged share capital.

The net proceeds are estimated to be approx. $2.837 billion, and are intended to enhance the Company's domestic and international research and development capabilities and one-stop-solution provision capabilities; to enhance domestic and international commercialization capabilities and expand business development and marketing teams; to expand domestic and international delivering and research and development capabilities through site construction; and for working capital and general corporate purposes.
