The South Korean bourse has ended the last trading day of the year with the Kospi Index closing down 6 points or 0.15% at 4,214. Throughout the entire year, it has risen by 1,814 points or 75.6%.

Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix grew by 0.3% and 1.7% respectively today, both reaching historical highs during intraday trading.
