Since September 2025, several leading P&C insurance companies in Mainland China have launched specialized insurance products for embodied AI, according to mainland media reports. Humanoid robots mainly involve two major risk areas: self-damage and causing injury or damage to the surrounding environment, hence the need for robot insurance, report told.

Besides, the risks associated with embodied AI devices are numerous, such as potential legal challenges for embodied AI enterprises regarding data compliance and cross-border flow as the devices themselves and their AI algorithms collect user behavior data, environmental data, interaction data, etc., which involves data processing, usage, and cross-border transmission.
