Hong Kong's Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) announced that after a total of three rounds of bidding, the auction of radio spectrum in the 2.5/2.6 GHz band was concluded. A total of 50 MHz of spectrum in five frequency blocks was auctioned off to three mobile network operators at total spectrum utilization fees (SUFs) of HKD202 million.

CHINA MOBILE (00941.HK)  -0.750 (-0.880%)    Short selling $363.96M; Ratio 18.798%   secured the paired frequency blocks 2515-2520 MHz and 2635-2640 MHz for a total SUF of HKD40 million. SMARTONE TELE (00315.HK)  +0.110 (+2.331%)    Short selling $4.72M; Ratio 29.890%   won the paired blocks 2520-2525 MHz and 2640-2645 MHz, as well as 2525-2530 MHz and 2645-2650 MHz, for a total SUF of HKD80 million.

Meanwhile, Genius Brand Limited, a joint venture between HKT-SS (06823.HK)  -0.060 (-0.531%)    Short selling $6.05M; Ratio 5.963%   and HUTCHTEL HK (00215.HK)  0.000 (0.000%)    Short selling $859.68K; Ratio 15.279%   , won the paired blocks 2530-2535 MHz and 2650-2655 MHz, as well as 2535-2540 MHz and 2655-2660 MHz, for a total SUF of HKD82 million.
