Octopus Cards announced a strategic partnership with Japan's mobile payment provider, PayPay. Users can make instant payments in HKD using the Octopus App at millions of Japanese merchants, with zero transaction fees and favorable exchange rates.

PayPay dominates Japan's mobile payment landscape with over 70 million users, and commands approx. two-thirds of the country's code-based payment market share.

The partnership grants Octopus App users seamless access to PayPay's extensive network spanning convenience stores, restaurants, electronics retailers, pharmacies, hotels, and taxi services across Japan.
