The risk of a US government shutdown escalated as the Senate rejected the stopgap funding bill proposed by both Republicans and Democrats last week.

On Monday, all three major US stock indices hit record highs during intraday and closing sessions. The DJIA rose by 66 points or 0.1% to close at 46,381. The S&P 500 increased by 29 points or 0.4% to 6,693. The Nasdaq made the biggest leap, closing up 157 points or 0.7% at 22,788.

Nvidia (NVDA.US)      announced on Monday that it will invest USD100 billion in OpenAI to support the construction of new data centers and the infrastructure needed for AI workloads. Nvidia's stock price rallied by 3.9% at close.
