The Development Bureau of Hong Kong (DEVB), in collaboration with the industry, recently hosted the first Construction Robot Competition and Exhibition, showcasing the application of AI and robotics technology, and promoting industrial cooperation and knowledge exchange in the Greater Bay Area.

In his speech at the event, Ricky Lau, Permanent Secretary for Development (Works) at the DEVB, said that the DEVB is fully committed to promoting the application of high-efficiency construction robots in public works.

Several robotic technologies have been implemented in multiple pilot projects, achieving significant results in saving time, optimizing construction quality and enhancing site safety.

Based on these successful experiences, the DEVB is formulating policies to mandate the use of designated high-efficiency construction robots in suitable public works projects.
