The HSI picked up 154 points or 0.6% to 25,212 at midday. The HSCEI gained 52 points or 0.6% to 8,989. The HSTECH added 45 points or 0.8% to 5,624. Half-day turnover of the market was $124.629 billion.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced the launch of adaptive testing for AI chips and large models, firmly promoting domestic products for domestic use. Chinese chip stock Cambricon rebounded over 5%, while Hong Kong chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK)  -0.550 (-0.937%)    Short selling $252.60M; Ratio 4.521%   and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK)  -0.480 (-1.009%)    Short selling $107.83M; Ratio 7.372%   leaped 4% and 2.6%. Handset parts stock LENS (06613.HK)  +0.840 (+3.146%)   jumped up 2%, while healthcare platforms PA GOODDOCTOR (01833.HK)  -0.980 (-4.414%)    Short selling $87.81M; Ratio 8.770%   and JD HEALTH (06618.HK)  -0.800 (-1.253%)    Short selling $156.16M; Ratio 19.009%   faded over 2%.

Two ministries said that they would address low-price competition in photovoltaic and other products through legal means, triggering a surge in new energy-related stocks. The MIIT and State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) earlier issued an action plan to regulate low-price competition in photovoltaic and other products according to law.
