Malaysia's state-owned car manufacturer, Proton Holdings, which is partly owned by Geely, officially commenced operations at its first electric vehicle assembly plant, Bloomberg reported. The project involves a total investment of MYR82 million (approximately USD19.4 million) and will have an annual production capacity of 20,000 units, with plans to expand to a maximum of 45,000 units.
