During a regular press conference held by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC), a media inquiry cited a spokesperson for the US government saying that China's international trade negotiator Li Chenggang will visit Washington this week, according to a report by Huanqiu.com.

In response, He Yungqian, spokesperson for the MOC, said that Li will lead a delegation to visit Canada from August 24 to 27 to co-chair the China-Canada Joint Economic and Trade Commission. After this, they will travel to Washington and meet with their US counterparts.
