NEW WORLD DEV (00017.HK)  -0.190 (-2.840%)    Short selling $6.78M; Ratio 9.103%   is currently in discussions on asset sales with several potential investors, including Blackstone (BX.US)      and CapitaLand, Bloomberg reported, citing sources.

It is understood that Blackstone has been in talks with NEW WORLD DEV to acquire certain assets, but no specific agreement has been reached yet.

Blackstone may also consider privatizing NEW WORLD DEV, though no concrete proposal has been made either at this time.

NEW WORLD DEV opened down 0.42% today (8th) but once rebounded to a peak of HKD7.5. It last traded at HKD7.37, up 3.22%, with a volume of 29.585 million shares, involving HKD215 million.
