The White House announced yesterday (July 31) the tariff rates for various countries, with Taiwan set at 20%, Japan and South Korea at 15%, and Myanmar at 40%. These rates will take effect starting at 12:01 am on August 7, US time.

In an executive order statement, President Donald Trump stated that the long-standing and substantial annual trade deficit in goods poses an unusual and immense threat, jeopardizing US national security and economy, with this threat largely originating from outside the US.
