Several JHC stores are clearing out stock as their leases expire, according to hearsay, raising concerns about closures.

IH RETAIL (01373.HK)  -0.020 (-2.326%)   , which operates brands like JHC, clarified through its Chairman and CEO, Ngai Lai Ha, that the brand's stores frequently face lease expirations, with over 100 store leases needing management annually. Yet, she stressed that clearing stock does not indicate closure.

To meet changing consumer preferences, JHC launched a “New Low Price” strategy focusing on value-for-money products, Ngai explained. This new strategy has been implemented since the end of June, with the aim of completing an overhaul within a year. Initially, there are about 100 new low-priced products, which will increase to around 500 later on.
