The company's profit before tax dropped by 28.4% YoY to HKD8.097 billion, while its net profit amounted to HKD6.88 billion, down 30.5% YoY, falling short of the forecasted range of HKD7.692-8.3 billion by three brokers as consolidated by our reporters. Its EPS stood at HKD3.34.

A second interim dividend of HKD1.3 per share was declared by the company, bringing the total dividend for 1H25 to HKD2.6 per share, consistent with the upper limit of the forecast by three brokers as consolidated by our reporters, compared to a distribution of HKD2.4 in 1H25.

The company also announced plans to initiate a share buyback of up to HKD3 billion, which is expected to be completed within six months.
