A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 8.6 occurred off the eastern coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia, triggering a tsunami warning.

The Japan Meteorological Agency has upgraded the tsunami advisory to a warning for Hokkaido, Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Fukushima, Ibaraki, Chiba, Shizuoka, Mie, Wakayama, Miyazaki Prefectures, and the Ogasawara Islands in Tokyo, predicting that the tsunami could reach a height of up to 3 meters.

According to the JR East website, services in the Tohoku and Kanto coastal areas have been suspended due to the tsunami warning.
