China's State Administration of Taxation (SAT) held a press conference today (28th), mentioning the promotion of compliance through precise regulation and the steadfast legal investigation of tax evasion.

Over 60 cases of tax evasion by online influencers and entertainment industry practitioners were exposed, reinforcing the concept of legal tax payment through warnings and deterrence.

Wang Daoshu, Deputy Director of the SAT, stated that in terms of investigating illegal activities, they focused on key personnel and legally investigated a number of tax evasion cases involving high-income individuals.

Since 2021, over 360 cases of tax evasion by online influencers have been investigated, with more than RMB3 billion in taxes recovered.
