Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba plans to decide soon whether to resign after evaluating the progress of tariff negotiations with the US, according to a report by Yomiuri Shimbun on Wednesday (23rd)

Earlier, the ruling coalition led by Ishiba had suffered a sweeping defeat in the House of Councillors election, and Ishiba announced that he would remain in office, but he is facing increasing opposition from within the Liberal Democratic Party.
