With effect from July 20, internal combustion engines vehicles (ICEVs) in Mainland China have been entirely blocked from entering ride-hailing platforms in Beijing, according to the Ride-Hailing Division of the China Urban Public Transport Association (CUPTA). Cities like Guangzhou and Dongguan also no longer accept ICEVs and prohibit them from participating in operations.
