HSBC announced that after a comprehensive update of the HSBC HK App, a mobile banking app, in mid-May this year, they continued to introduce a series of new features to further enhance services, responding to customer needs and maximizing the benefits of digital banking. The new features launched this time mainly focus on account management, security measures, product comparison, and simplification of the process of changing mobile devices.

The new features included the ability to instantly view transaction records from the past 24 months. HSBC HK stated that some people continued to use physical passbooks due to concerns about the complexity of digital banking. With the spirit of financial inclusion, HSBC considerably simplified the process of accessing transaction records through digital channels in this upgrade, which was believed to encourage more passbook account customers to switch to mobile banking.
