According to data on summer consumption released by Taobao Instant Commerce, a sharp leap was recorded in consumer activity in major Chinese cities and popular tourist destinations. Nearly 160,000 small- and medium-sized non-catering businesses reached a peak in business in July.

In addition, multiple consumption patterns such as night economy, cooling economy, and home economy have emerged as a boom. Since July, night orders in 127 Chinese cities have increased by more than 100% MoM, with over 80% coming from the central and western regions. Luohe, Baotou, Shuozhou, Xuchang, and Shangqiu have also logged a growth rate of over 200%, making them the top five cities with the fastest growth in night orders.
