The HSI opened 165 points or 0.7% higher at 24,991. The HSCEI grew 69 points or 0.8% to 9,055. The HETECH rose 65 points or 1.2% to 5,604.

Last week, China's State Administration for Market Regulation held talks with BABA-W (09988.HK)  -0.300 (-0.254%)    Short selling $449.20M; Ratio 10.931%   's Ele.me, MEITUAN-W (03690.HK)  -2.100 (-1.606%)    Short selling $905.74M; Ratio 24.036%   , and JD-SW (09618.HK)  -0.700 (-0.535%)    Short selling $100.29M; Ratio 18.067%   , urging them to engage in rational competition. Meanwhile, catering associations in nearly 20 provinces and cities have issued statements calling for an end to "Involutionary" competition among food delivery giants.

Both Taobao and Ele.me have subsequently issued statements responding to the initiative for self-regulation in instant retail. Taobao Instant Commerce's frontline operations also stressed that their internal regulations prohibit boosting sales with "zero-cost purchases". BABA-W opened 2.6% higher at HKD118.8 this morning. MEITUAN-W rallied 4.5% to HKD133. JD-SW climbed 3.2% to HKD132.3.

In addition, XIAOMI-W (01810.HK)  0.000 (0.000%)    Short selling $143.07M; Ratio 7.037%   opened down 1% at HKD56.4, while TENCENT (00700.HK)  +3.500 (+0.671%)    Short selling $426.11M; Ratio 9.202%   inched up 0.7% to HKD522.5.

Aiming to further regulate the competitive order of the new energy vehicle (NEV) industry, China has urged NEV makers to maintain reasonable competition. The majority of big car stocks trended upward this morning. XPENG-W (09868.HK)  -0.100 (-0.139%)    Short selling $76.81M; Ratio 21.470%   and BYD COMPANY (01211.HK)  +3.300 (+2.584%)    Short selling $499.87M; Ratio 32.087%   edged up 0.4-0.5%. LI AUTO-W (02015.HK)  -2.100 (-1.709%)    Short selling $169.50M; Ratio 21.025%   and NIO-SW (09866.HK)  +1.600 (+4.611%)    Short selling $37.39M; Ratio 23.935%   hiked 1.9-2.9%. GEELY AUTO (00175.HK)  +0.180 (+0.976%)    Short selling $42.81M; Ratio 9.826%   dipped 1.9%.
