The consumption market of Mainland China remains the second largest globally, the Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao stated at the State Council Information Office's press conference on the "High-Quality Completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan" series.

Over the past four years, the annual growth rate of total retail sales of China averaged 5.5%, and it was expected to surpass RMB50 trillion this year, Wang said.
