Apart from earlier rumors of European company L'Oreal laying off over 200 people, the Hong Kong branch of another US-based international cosmetic giant, Estee Lauder, had already cut no more than 100 jobs as early as April 2025, HK01 quoted industry sources as saying.

Estee Lauder also merged its Hong Kong branch with Taiwan branch, with about 1,300 employees remaining now. Meanwhile, the Group has closed approximately two stores in Hong Kong this year, with no further adjustment plans in the future. Estee Lauder's official website shows that there are currently 21 stores in Hong Kong.
