The EU is preparing to strengthen its engagement with other countries blown by US President Donald Trump's tariffs, potentially coordinating with countries including Canada and Japan, Bloomberg reported, citing sources.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen had previously stated that the EU would extend the suspension period for countermeasures against US trade until August 1 to allow for further negotiations.
