TikTok's parent company ByteDance said on Wednesday that recent reports about its plan to launch an independent version of TikTok for US users are false.

ByteDance reportedly plans to develop a new TikTok application, internally codenamed M2, with new algorithms and data systems that will not be connected to the global application.
