US President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that the US will impose a 50% tariff on Brazilian imports, partly as a retaliatory measure against the prosecution faced by former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.

In a letter to Brazil's current President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Trump indicated that the US will also investigate potential unfair trade practices by Brazil.
