The Hunan Provincial Department of Natural Resources has announced the discovery of a super-large altered granite-type lithium deposit in the Jijiaoshan mining area of Linwu County, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province.

The proven lithium ore reserves amount to 490 million tons, with lithium oxide resources totaling 1.31 million tons. The deposit also contains a variety of strategic minerals such as rubidium, tungsten, and tin.

It is understood that this discovery is equivalent to adding 13 large lithium deposits. Based on current market prices, the potential economic value exceeds RMB1 trillion. The reserves are expected to meet the battery demand for 120 million new energy vehicles.
