U.S. President Donald Trump sent letters to 14 countries notifying them of reciprocal tariff rates, leading to a 0.9% drop in the DJIA at close. Markets kept tabs on the U.S. tariff policies, while Hong Kong stocks opened higher. The HSI climbed 39 points or 0.2% to 23,927; the HSCEI gained 19 points or 0.2% to 8,627; and the HSTECH added 14 points or 0.3% to 5,244.
