Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, emphasized that rare earth exports have never been, nor should they become, an issue between China and Europe, reported Xinhua News Agency.

As long as export control regulations are followed and necessary procedures are completed, the legitimate needs of European companies will be met, he said, adding that Chinese authorities have also established a "fast track" for European companies, and those deliberately hyping this issue between China and Europe have ulterior motives.
