The Indonesian authorities will urge domestic oil field operators to increase production with the aim of achieving a daily crude oil production of 1 million barrels by 2029 or 2030, thereby enhancing the country's energy security, said Indonesia's Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Yuliot Tanjung.

So far, Indonesia's daily crude oil consumption reaches 1.6 million barrels, but the current production is only about 580,000-600,000 barrels, indicating a supply-demand imbalance.
